Dear Parent,
Berkshire Hills-Emanuel Camps will be holding our Pre-Camp Open House Visiting
Day on Sunday, June 8, 2008.
We welcome you to arrive at 11:00 A.M. Tours of the camp take approximately
1 hour. Your tour guides are qualified camp staff who will be happy to answer
your questions. Tours end at 3:00 P.M. A tour of camp gives you and your child
the chance to become familiar with his/her summer "home" and some
of the people involved in making the "magic" of camping work.
Driving time from New York City is approximately 2 hours. A map and driving
directions are available on our website.
When you arrive at camp, a staff member will greet you at
the front entrance and direct you to the parking area.
We would like to invite you to join us for a Bar-B-Q lunch
at the camp. Lunch will be available for our group at 1:00. You can choose
to tour first and relax with lunch OR lunch first and walk it off with
a camp tour.
If you would prefer, bring a picnic lunch or snack (we provide juice, coffee
and tea). Or there are eateries in the town of Copake.
*Please keep in mind that we are a Kosher facility.
PLEASE NOTE: The Children's Camp has not yet been opened or prepared
for the summer season. Much work is done in June so that everything looks perfect
before your children arrive. We hope your tour will give you and your child(ren)
a feeling for camp life, but it doesn't really come alive until the children
arrive.
May we suggest you wear comfortable shoes? Our tour involves considerable
walking, 50% uphill.
In case of rain, the visiting day is canceled.
In order for us to prepare for the Pre-camp Open House, we would appreciate
your RSVP to our Ardsley office at 877-543-4333 or 914-693-8952 by Friday, May
23rd. Please specify number of people attending and if you will be joining
us for lunch.
Sincerely,
Seth & Elaine
