Thanks to a grant sponsored by Coca-Cola we have been able to offer the following Day of Caring/Day of Sharing Program.

This summer we will teach our children the value of  "Gimmelut Chassadim" (acts of loving kindness) within our own camping community and the community at large. Our Senior Unit campers (ages 13,14 & 15) will host a day at camp on Friday, July 28^th for the Hudson Even Start Family Literacy Program, a local community program that targets pre-school and elementary age children from underprivileged and poverty stricken areas. 

• We will host a Bar-B-Q lunch and our campers will help these youngsters play games and enjoy our beautiful site.

• All of our campers will be involved in creating a variety of "gift packages" some will include: arts & crafts projects, children's book & can of coke.

• Our 13 & 14 year old campers will have a "read a story" session where they can work one-on-one with the children and read with them.

• Our 11 & 12 year old campers will make books in A&C with the children and then laminate and bind the books. We will produce labels that can be adhered to the books that acknowledge Coca-Cola as a sponsor.

• All of our campers will send letters home to their parent's requesting that they bring a children's book with them on Parent.s Visiting Day to be part of the "gift package".
