Turkey Bowl Day
Saturday, November 24, 2007
10:00 AM at Cunningham Park / 8:00 PM
at M1-5 (new venue!)
Turkey Bowl Football! Every
Saturday after Thanksgiving, since 1975, a few brave souls make their way
to the hallowed grounds of Cunningham Park. It is in the parking lot,
after many laughs about old times, and times to come, that these brave
souls divide up into four separate teams to play some good old fashioned,
two hand touch football.
Come
help us continue a great tradition and make some new friends. We
hope to see a great turnout this year. (We all need to run off some of
that turkey and trimmings). Trophies will be awarded for MVP and Rookie of
the Year.
The time is 10:00 AM. The Place
is Cunningham Park in Bayside, Queens. We meet in the parking lot
with the tennis bubble. It can be accessed from the LIE both east and west
(Francis Lewis blvd exit). Make the turn (left if going west and right if
going east) on Francis Lewis Blvd, take it to Union Tpke and make a right.
The entrance will be on your left. Contact David Heydt for more details. NOTE:
If you plan to play that morning, please bring one dark shirt and one
light shirt.
But
the excitement doesn't end after the games! Join us that night at 8:00
PM for the 8th Annual Turkey Bowl
