Alumni Association
"BUY A MOVIE SEAT" CAMPAIGN
Alumni Hall (formerly the camp 3 dining room) is the BHEC Alumni Association's
latest gift to camp.
Phase one was completed in the summer of 2002 and required an air-conditioned movie
theater with a large screen TV and "stadium seating" with real theater seats. Most
of the time and materials for this project were donated by BHEC alumni. Many spent
their spring weekends painting the room and building the platform for the seats.
The next phases will require a cafe and game room. Phase two (the main room cafe)
started in spring 2003 with alumni members again spending their weekends traveling to
camp and working.
To help with costs of this wonderful project, and to raise money for the Children's
Scholarship Fund, we are offering a chance to "Buy A Movie Seat" in the theater.
A plate with your name or message will be placed on each seat or row you purchase,
recognizing your contribution to BHEC In addition, you may purchase a booth in
the Alumni Hall Cafe.

Perhaps no greater gift can be given to a child than a chance to enjoy the
summer in a safe, clean environment where fields are green and the sky is
blue. Unfortunately this "gift" eludes many of our city children in lieu of
financial realities. They are left to the heat and the boredom of a summer
in the city. We at Berkshire Hills-Emanuel Camps Alumni Association are
dedicated to give this "gift" to as many children as we can. We have seen
the before and after, the child who can not swim when they arrive and is
diving into our private lake four weeks later; the child who has never seen
a deer, played baseball or slept under a sky full of stars. Berkshire Hills
is where we help children discover the beauty of life and cultivate the
perception of the world around them.
Opened since 1931, over 50,000 campers have called Berkshire Hills home.
Located at the foot of the Berkshire Mountains in Copake NY, our camp is set
around a private lake with residential facilities for over 200 young campers
each session.
Our success is the product of not only a dedicated staff, but generosity of
people and organizations who give financial support to camp. We know that we
make a difference and hope that we can count on your support.
