![]() Dear Camp Friends, For over 75 years "Camp" has been that special place for our campers, alumni and friends. When I think of camp it brings a smile and a laugh. It is for so many the place where friends were made and where we just felt happy. What price can you put on Happiness, Fond Memories and Friendship? Well, we have an answer because we have a ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to help our camp have the facilities we can all be proud of, but it will take YOUR HELP - EVERY ONE OF YOU. Your contribution will make a difference. MATCHING GRANT FROM GRINSPOON FOUNDATION Meet Your Match II is a 1:3 capital matching grant program from Harold Grinspoon Foundation (HGF). Every $3 raised by the camp from donors' gifts of $10,000 and more in support of capital improvements between September and December 31, 2007 will be matched by $1 from HGF. So, for instance, if you are thinking of donating $75,000, your total gift with the match will be $100,000; if you are thinking of donating $10,000, your total gift will be $13,333; if you are thinking of a smaller donation and you are the camp's alum, you can contribute any amount to the Alumni Association which can make an eligible gift in aggregate.
View the MYM brochure for more information about this program. To maximize this Matching Opportunity, our goal is to raise $600,000. If we succeed, BHEC will receive an additional $200,000 in matching funds, and the total gift for the camp will be $800,000. We have already been somewhat successful in getting closer to our goal, and the thermometer will help you track our achievements. Often we think of capital improvements as something less valuable to spend our dollars on than, for instance, programs. We urge you to reconsider! Great facilities ensure that great programs can be happening in them to serve the camp's mission. Can you imagine the camp without a gym or dining room, for example? Below are some of the capital improvement projects that need attention:
