Dear BHEC Parents: From the day they come home, they start talking about next summer. They're healthy, strong, content -- more self-confident than the day they left. And they can't wait to go back. Does this sound like your child? We hope so. Between summers, we work hard to ensure these happy returns. And we strive to keep our priorities straight. Friendship, community, self-esteem, cooperation, tolerance. We let the children learn who they are, invent their own fun, engage with other children and counselors in the warmth and protection of BHEC. So what is this all about? Well, you probably know that BHEC is funded in part by the UJA. But did you know that BHEC receives only 10% of its funding from UJA? Another 10% comes from private contributions. And a small amount arrives by way of grants for special programming, such as sponsoring Israeli campers. We aim to keep our fees reasonable. But we would love to enhance your children's camp experience with more sports equipment, an improved waterfront, better arts & crafts projects. For this, we need your support. We realize that as parents, you will ask yourselves why you should write a donation check. We can only say this: Without contributions, BHEC would not be what it is. So we hope you will consider giving, and we encourage you to tell us where you want your contribution to go. Thank you. Have a happy and healthy new year.
