The Summer is Over-Sad Goodbyes-until next year

Dear Camp Families,
Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us. We had a terrific time (could have done with less rain). We played, laughed, made new friends and enjoyed each other.
I wish all of you a Healthy & Happy year.
We will look forward to the reunion.
I am taking vacation until September 1. I will be reachable after 9/1 at 914 693-8952. You can always e-mail me too.
I will send 2005 info out after September 1.
Heading Home

Just a reminder that your children will be arriving home on Friday, August 20th at 1:00 PM. We suggest you get to your perspective bus depot just a few minutes early. Don't forget to check the bus's undercarriage for your child's bedding. We hope you received our "Garden of Eden" mailing along with specific bus information. Enjoy your children-we did!
2005 Mailing will be sent by September 1.
White Board Games Win!

White Board games won the 2004 Color War by the narrowest of margins. All campers had a terrific time and were great sports. Hats off to all who participated and to Gabe Scher and Jason Weingarten for a terrific 3 days.
Color War

We broke Color War on Sunday afternoon. We're busy cheering, swimming and competing. Last night we held our annual tug of war. Watch for pictures.
Please be patient with phone calls. We will be calling on Tuesday evening as scheduled, but calls may be a bit early or late. For Wednesday evening we will be calling as of 6:30 so as not to interfere with SING-which begins at 7:45.
Please look for our mailing-we have confirmed bus home and sent info on our "Garden of Eden".
THEY'RE BACK-"HOME" safe & sound

Our Senior Unit Campers just arrived back to camp. It is 8:00 PM and we have a group of tired campers. They had a wonderful time! AND they were complimented everywhere they went. It appears that this group was just terrific and cooperative and just a pleasure to be with. Glad they're ours!
SAFE ARRIVAL IN AKRON

Our senior unit campers had a slow ride to Akron. They arrived safely at 10:00 PM after dining at Pizza Hut. Today they are enjoying Six Flags and will enjoy a pool party back at the JCC tonight. The rest of us back at camp are enjoying our SUNNY DAY-finally. Tomorrow we're off to Six Flags too! Look for pictures by Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.
WE HAVE SUN

Looks like we will have several days of sun ahead of us-we are thankful. Our senior trip leaves on Sunday for Cleveland, Ohio. Trip orientation will be held tonight. The teens and staff are ready.
PHONE SCHEDULE-Session #2 Calls will begin on Monday, August 2nd as follows: Monday,8/2-Shack #1 & Shack #2 Tuesday,8/3-Calls may be late since we will be home from Six Flags on the later side. Shack #3 & Shack #4 Wednesday, 8/4 Shack #5 & Shack #6, Bunk #3 Thursday, 8/5 Bunk #7, & Bunk #9 & Bunk #10 Senior Unit Campers will be back very late and unpacking so calls will be optional. Sunday, 8/8 Bunk #5 & Bunk #4 & Cabin #5 The schedule repeats itself the week of 8/9. We do not call the last week of camp.
We Begin Again

What a wonderful, sunny start to session #2. The campers arrived at 10:45, making great timing and all with smiles. We'll keep you posted and start adding pictures again. Thanks to all the parents who made Parent's Visiting Day such a success.

Session #1 comes to a close

This is a very busy week at camp. We are thankful for the beautiful sunny day we are experiencing. Today your children were involved in hobbies (their choice)-tomorrow marks the end of hobbies for session #1. Senior Unit is having their hockey playoff games today. Junior Unit is swimming, playing tennis baseball, and enjoying activities such as; tennis, drama play rehearsal, expericamp and zipline. Our hill campers are swimming and are involved in; dance, arts & crafts, tennis pacman, radio and Jewish programming. On Wednesday-Junior Unit boys will be at a basketball Tournament at Camp Pontiac and our Senior Unit Boys will be playing Basketball at a tournament at Eagle Hill. Tomorrow is bunk parties and Thursday we will host a concert at camp by upcoming star "Angel Faith". Have a nice day! We will post new pictures on Wednesday.

If your child is due to arrive home on Friday, July 23rd to the Bloomingdales, White Plains stop....NEW ARRIVAL TIME....11:30 AM. Queens bus will arrive as scheduled at 12:30 PM.

Coca-Cola sponsors Day of Daring/Day of Sharing

Thanks to the generosity of Coca-Cola, in conjunction with JCC Association, our campers will engage in a week long celebration of "Acts of Kindness". Our Junior Unit campers will make placemats for the Hudson Senior Center that provides meals daily to 300 seniors. Our Senior Unit campers will hold a swim-a-thon to raise money for Camp Simcha so that children with serious illnesses can attend camp. Our Counselors-in-Training will visit Camp Anne, for severely retarded adults and create a summer yearbook for their campers and all our campers will engage in a chain of kindness to fellow bunk mates. Lastly, we will host a thank you Bar-B-Q for our local police, fire and rescue squad members. We Thank Coca-Cola for their generosity and hope all our families drink Coke!

Today we are enjoying our Israeli Day Celebration. The campers will play GaGa, learn Israeli dancing, write letters to soldiers, get some military training and hike Israel. Lunch will consist of traditional Israeli foods such as Falafal,humus, Israeli salad, etc. Tomorrow we begin a special week long program "Mitzvah Gorreret Mitzvah". The children will engage in acts of kindness. We will most more pictures on Tuesday.

July 4th Celebration at Berkshire Hills-Emanuel Camps

We're having a wonderful sunny July 4th. Our teen campers held a Wacky Water Day while our Juniors (11 & 12)decided on relays and eating contests. The hill campers(8-10 yr. olds) enjoyed our traditional Carnival booths. All units will be enjoying our inflatables. This year we have Bouncy Boxing, Bungee Challenge and Extreme Adrenaline. Of course, we will all be BarBQing at the lake for dinner. We hope all our parents are having a wonderful day too! REMINDER: Phone calls start Monday night with Bunk #4 and Bunk #5 and Cabin #5. You can find the schedule on-line in our camper manual.

At Berkshire Hills-Emanuel Camps

Dear Parents,
We are having a wonderful day. We had a bit of excitement last night when our electricity went out at 10:30 PM, but we're back on again. We choose our hobbies yesterday, had our fire drill and enjoyed the heated pool and lake. Our new expericamp program(science experiments) is in demand as is our lacrosse program (sorry, females only). Later this week Shack #4 and Bunk #4 are going Strawberry picking and Cabin #5 will be joining our senior adults for Shabbat dinner. Have a good week, we will.
Campers Arrive Safely

Today we welcomed our old time campers back "home" and greeted our new campers enthusiastically. Our counselors are ready and excited. The campers will have the opportunity to unpack and spend the day getting to know eachother and their counselors. It is a beautiful sunny day and a great start to an anticipated great summer.
