It will take place on Sunday, December 18 from 2-4 at Herrill Lanes in New Hyde Park, Long Island, NY.

Coming summer 2012: Water Skiing and Horseback Riding

Special Sunday programming is coming to BHEC. Sunday mornings will be full of fun and different choices for campers.

Along with exciting new programming that will take place at camp, we are offering two off camp programs for an additional cost: water skiing and horseback riding.

Water skiing is available for a fee of $30/session. It is an hour session in groups of 4, on Copake Lake.
Horseback riding and grooming sessions are available for $40/session. Campers will have the opportunity to take riding lessons and work with horses at nearby Cricket Hill Farm. Campers will be grouped according to their ability, from beginners to advanced, and have the chance to both ride and groom the horses.

Dear Camp Families,

Some people ask how we can keep tuition so low at BHEC. The answer is that we have sponsors. UJA/Federation provides us with annual operating support. Donors provide scholarship funds. A recent million dollar gift, will allow us to renovate buildings, buy buses, build up our sports facility and waterfront and even build something new!

BHEC has a mature and caring staff, including parents of campers. As most of you can attest, campers who come, stay, many until their counselor years. An international staff adds to our strong base and brings extra talent. Our youngest staff have all been campers first, and engage in a summer of leadership training, with the best being selected to become junior counselors.

Our older adult camp offers inter-generational opportunities that are enjoyed by all. It and our retreat groups, provide additional revenue that allows us to operate a warm and nurturing children's camp. We don't need 600 children to balance our budget. Our 250 maximum camper registration is an ideal number. We offer everything a larger camp can afford, and still provide a family feeling, something that all of our campers and staff talk about and love.

Please take advantage of our 2012 for $5012 offer. We, the BHEC board and I, are committed to our current families. We are offering this rate, until the end of September, only to you. This summer there were many families who extended from the first to the second session. Our junior unit was sold out early.

If you already send your camper(s) for the whole summer, don't wait to register. If you have sent your child(ren) for only one month, please look carefully and decide quickly if you would like to give them a full summer at BHEC.

Please go to our website to register and for the terms of this offer. A $1,000.00 deposit is required by September 30th.

P.S. PLEASE NOTE: BHEC will offer a four day extension at the end of the summer followed by a long weekend for families. For those who work, it provides you the well-being of knowing your child(ren) are happy, busy and safe. If you come up and stay for the long weekend, you will be treating yourself to a private room/bath, great meals with the kids at our adult dining room and we will even keep the zip line open....parents first!

Hi Everyone~

I am still at camp with our Adult Vacation Center guests and I miss you all. Tonight we are taking our guests to a hotel to keep them safe and dry as Hurricane Irene comes our way. I wish all of our families a cozy and dry weekend. I welcome emails from all campers to linda@bhecamps.com telling me your favorite parts of the summer, things you want to see again and any suggestions for improvements. Believe it or not Summer 2012 is already in the works. Make sure to sign up and tell your friends.

Good morning. The buses left camp 45 minutes late. Please note the new arrival times.

Bloomingdales White Plains will now arrive 12:15pm

Cunningham Park Queens will now arrive 1:15pm

LIT Bus will arrive Bloomingdales White Plains 12:15pm and Cunningham Park Queens at approximately 1:45.

Please check that you have ALL your bags.

Hello Parents~

Tomorrow we will be sending your children home to you. It's been a fantastic Summer once again and I'm sure they are excited to see you and share all their camp experiences. Rates and dates for Summer 2012 are now posted at www.bhecamps.com.

The bus arrivals will be as follows:

Bloomingdales White Plains at 11:30am
Bus Counselor cell number 917-335-5868

Cunningham Park Queens at 12:30pm
(Union Turnpike & 196th Street Parking Lot)
Bus Counselor numbers 347-721-7711, 646-327-7120, 917-533-6051

The LIT's will have their own bus that will also have their luggage. It will arrive at Bloomingdales White Plains 11:30am and Cunningham Park Queens at 1:00pm.

If you are picking up your child at camp please arrive at 10:30am. Please do not arrive earlier as we need the buses to depart first

If you requested that your luggage return with your child/ren the ADS Trucks will be in the parking lots. DO NOT LEAVE UNTIL YOU REMOVE ALL YOUR BELONGINGS FROM THE ADS TRUCKS AND THE UNDERCARRIAGE OF THE BUS. Please check all black garbage bags for your camper(s) bedding. In addition, please check with the Bus Counselors for any returning medication. All unused spending money will be with your child.

Junior Unit Returns from Two-Day Trip

Junior Unit just returned from their overnight at the Six Flags Great Escape Indoor Water Park Lodge and Amusement Park. They had an amazing time. All smiles when they got off the bus.

BHEC is ON TOP of the WATERFRONT

Today I received an ad from a company selling paddle boards. It informed me that to keep up with the best camps, paddle boards are the way of the future. What a nice feeling to know that our campers have been out on paddle boats all summer!!! Our beautifully painted canoes, our amazing new Aquatrack and our stand up paddling make our beautiful lake the most exciting place to be!!!
