About Our Summer Camp
BHEC is a relatively small camp that allows for a special kind of cohesiveness and bond between our oldest LIT's (Leaders in Training) and our youngest Hill campers. The Hill is our youngest division and includes children entering graders 2-5. They are divided by gender into bunks composed of 8-10 children. Three staff people live with them. The Junior Unit is for children entering grades 6-8. Their living accommodations vary in size from 8-20 children and they live with three to four staff. Our Senior Unit includes 9th and 10th graders. They live with two or three staff in Cabins which accommodate 18-14 youngsters.
BHEC is proud of the way we structure camp. Our mature, adult division heads, directly supervise the staff and children in each of our three divisions. Unit leaders, who have years of direct counselor experience, supervise counselors, providing guidance and assistance throughout the day. Our staff goal is to provide a safe and fun summer environment in which your child can learn new things and grow.
We employ over 120 individuals for 250 campers. Counselors, speciality counselors, adult supervisors, support staff and a great medical team comprise our family.
